A few people who got struck within the middle of the vast sea, was able to reach back to their own land even after being in so much difficulties and hardships.This incident depicts the depth of hope and unity when all other door seems to be closed. They were able to get back only when they joined shoulder to shoulder amidst the tough times. At last, when compassion and union let them sparkle, it was not just their life that they regained, instead, the worth of humanity and the bond of unity which makes this whole universe to move forth. Bravery is the ability to confront something painful or difficult or dangerous without any fear. It's a quality, not a state of mind; it doesn't need a cause to awaken it....Courage, on the other hand, is the ability to confront something painful or difficult or dangerous despite any fear.

Reading the article titled "Castaway" from the  Times of India, a lot of things passed through my mind which I can only filter with a pen. I surely learned a few things that I will keep in mind for the rest of my life.  Taking a glimpse of what Desappan and his crew had gone through, the first thing I realised was off the risk present in every job and the situations where a person would have to stare death in the eye and say "not yet", with all the strength.  Another important point is the ability to improvise, even when it seems that we have lost everything. Just like Babu, whose courage and strength, Desappan spoke highly of is an example of someone who gets upto the challengeand give people hope.  Optimism is something else, it is clear from how Babu, one man among a team of nine changed the minds of the other eight men. Reading the article titled "castaway" from the Times of india, a lot of things passed through my mind.              Those nine men were surviving the Bay of Bengal even without having anything to satisfy their hunger and thirst.As days passed there was no food left.they even forced to drink salty sea water. Just like babu, whose courage snd strength , desappan gave the light of hope to other people in his crew. At last after these helplessness days they got help from natives of myanmer.             Even the unbrave people become brave when they united. When the people  of Mynamar rescued them and resolved their necessities more beyond, the sacrifice of one among them to save his companisons is commentable. The biggest strength of the mankind lies in unwavering  unity. Unity is a famous ingredient for every successful hope. By Gopika S Nair

 Even a single day without proper food and shelter would be like a nightmare to us. But these men, spending more than a month in the sea not knowing what will happen the next moment was indeed really audacious. Little did that team with nine members knew that they would get stuck in the middle of the roaring waves for the next 56 days of their life. Everything that was possible to sustain their lives slowly started getting exhausted. Without any connection with the world outside, they remained the boat watching death nearing them. But at last their sincere hope and prayers took them to the land where they saw God's presence. Unfortunately the one who was called the daredevil of the group was not there to accompany them. His dareness took him to the depths of the sea. The rest, see this as their second life that they got as a blessing from the saviour above.

Being stranded at the sea for about fifty five days seems to be a marvel, right? I did felt the same until I came across the column of a national daily today. "Castaway" which vividly elaborates the tale of nine men from Chennai adrift in the Bay of Bengal not just chronicles their luck but the trials and tribulations for survival in the mighty sea too. Had the men regretted upon their fate alone and gave up, they may never ever see the sunrise again. In the time of severe threat, they  together tackled that poignant yet precarious circumstance by exhibiting commendable austerity.                             They relied upon the exotic catch onboard,the crew eating one or two  sparse meals a day, they ran out of food within two weeks threw light on the harshness of hunger and the intensity of havoc that they were facing.  The news of the return of 8 fishermen from Chennai who went missing in the Bay of Bengal for 56 days made the headlines in the newspapers today. The team of 9 who got on to the sea for fishing was adrift as the boat's engine crashed. The next 55 days were of utter misery for them that they didn't have adequate food or water. They were all listless that they slept all day.  All these days, they were at the mercy of the sea that they felt each day they went nearer the shore of death. Even though there was no scope for any hope, they were not ready to give up. They signalled at each and every boat that passed by and finally, on the 56th day they were ashore in Myanmar. In an attempt to repair the engine on of them disappeared underwater and on October 7th rest of them managed to reach Chennai.  They are extremely thankful to God for this second life.
