The knowledge you gain from reading also gives you lots to talk about with others.The Power of Reading helps to develop inference and deduction and comprehension skills. It also involves children regularly writing in different genres and creates a more cohesive learning experience. • Literacy is at the heart of the curriculum and the texts facilitate a range of exciting cross curricular work.Reading involves thinking. It is a process of getting meaning from print. It requires the reader to understand ideas contained in, between and behind the words.When we read, not only are we improving memory and empathy, but research has shown that it makes us feel better and more positive too. Science has shown that reading has some amazing health benefits, including helping with depression, cutting stress, and reducing the chances of developing Alzheimer's later in life.
