Reading : A Pathway to Another Dimension - From Aaryan Shaji

As a child, the first books I ever read were Balarama and Balabhumi, and I still do. All the short comic strips I read in those books always came to life right before my eyes. Each of those characters and stories will always have a certain place in my heart, as they helped me build my language and, moreover, personality. From then, I started to read english books. They really helped me explore different genres, and stories that were practically alien to me. I have spent a lot of time reading, but I do not regret that decision. Every word I've spoken, every word I've written, even this article, is the result of my habit of reading. As far as I see, I can only find advantages to this exciting event called reading. Whenever I used to feel moody, or sad, I read a few pages of a book that I really liked, or a new book that I was excited for. This really helped me alleviate my stress. I would also read a few pages before I go to bed. Now, this wouldn't necessarily be a good book. It might as well be a physics book with all it's formulaic jargon. But what matters is that it always gave me good sleep. Now, are books the only source of reading ? Never. Even though it is not a regular habit of mine, whenever I read newspaper, it always fills me with knowledge that I should be aware of. Things that are happening in the world, especially in these trying times. Each book I read always persuaded me to think in a different perspective. Whenever I read a book that tells the story about your average hero, I try to think or visualise that story in the view of the antagonist. This gave me whole new different story to read, and another character to root for. In conclusion, reading gave me the entry card to another dimension, a dimension where I could make up things I like, a dimension that never tired me, a dimension that depended on the very existence of my ever-growing imagination.
