Emerging Colours of Luz - Nayantara B Terese

In Spanish, the word "luz" means "light."  And we could truly believe that he was a person who brought light into Jessie Owens's life. When a ray of light passes through a prism it creates multicolored light. In a simple way,  it causes rainbow. A rainbow symbolizes hope. And we could differentiate each of the different colors of hope. Just like that, here in Owens's experience  we could shed lights on different aspects such as brotherhood,  importance of good competition,  support others and so on.Even though these add to the beauty of the incident, I only want to emphasise the focal point. May be this seems meaningless or rubbish. But to me it is the incident ray which find one's Luz Long and to reflect the colorful lights. And that incident ray is self-love.
There are so many people who act like Luz Long in their day-to-day lives. It's hard to narrate every story of our Luz Longs, so I would like to share the ideas that strike me the most in such an encounter with one of my Luz Longs. During our childhood, we used to dream unbound. But, as self consciousness set in, we gradually gravitated toward the moulds created by others. We were attempting to be the stereotypical character. From then on, we began to fade into faceless, nameless, meaningless ghosts. It will continue until we try to listen to ourselves. When we listen to ourselves, we find rays of hope. There are a lot of steps to reach our destination. We will be unstoppable once we begin to listen to our hearts. Many situations tempt us to give up, but the person who made mistakes yesterday is still me. Today, I am the person who made mistakes; tomorrow, I may be a little wiser, but I will still be the same person.Because it was my mistakes that shaped me into the person I am today. This self-love leads us to listen to others. We will learn to support them and to love them.
One day it just clicks..you realise what is important and what isn't. You learn to care less about what other people think about you and more about what you think of yourself. You realise how far you've come and recall believing things were in such a mess that they'd never get better, and you smile. You smile because you're truly proud of the person you have chosen to become. So find your Luz Long and be a Luz Long in someone's story.
