How she became an IAS officer?

The ted talk speech that I have watched recently is the speech by Ms. Surabhi Gautam titled “How she became an IAS officer”. In the speech she shares her extraordinary journey of transition from being a naive young village girl to someone who has cracked the most toughest examinations conducted across India. She had also secured AIR fifty in the coveted Civil Services exam 2016 and secured IAS in the first attempt itself. She hails from a village in Madhya Pradesh where there was no access to better educational facilities, electricity and transport. Perhaps, she belongs to a giant and joint brahmin family which consisted about thirty plus members. She was raised in an environment where it was believed that imparting education to girls is of no use. But her parents succeeded in providing their child with better education.

She comments that her mother was someone who has always insisted her to bring out the best of abilities in her. She ignited Surabhi’s dreams. But her journey towards success was the culmination of hardwork, smartwork and an indomitable spirit. When the world around her seemed to be too difficult to deal with, she believed in herself. Her story is an inspiration to millions and it do justice to the old adage that says that there is no substitute for hardwork and no shortcut to success.  She insists all of us to be hardworking.

We should dare to take risks and definitely one day ahead in the future, you will soar higher and higher up in the sky.
